Living Las Vegas
Yes, that’s right my faithful blog readers…I’m back. It’s been nearly 2 MONTHS since my last post, and in that time there’s been two holidays, a Winter Retreat, a flood, a Ranch Council, a Camp Directors Meeting in Las Vegas, a major winter ice and snow storm, Janna and I’s 2 year anniversary, and news of becoming an Uncle! So, for all those who had begun to assume that I was just lazy…nice try…
So, what’s it all been like, and what have I gleaned from all of this…not a damn thing. No, really, there’s so much to say, yet so little time to say it. I have a heck of a post coming this week, but this is just to whet the ole’ appetite. Let’s just say that as far as people and places go, I’ve run the gauntlet; from Fr. Thomas Hopko to Elvis himself, I’ve seen ’em. From Naptown to Sin City, I’ve been there, and from the valleys to the mountain tops, I’ve walked. And, in all of it, God is so radiantly breaking through. All has been so transparent and so filled with light and life; true life, life in God Himself, and I am so utterly unworthy and thankful for it all! So, I will say more in a bit, but until then, may the Lord bless and keep you all; especially those of you who have the courage and heart to check back here just one more time to see if I actually posted… 🙂

Seraphim, isn’t Fr. Thomas one of the best speakers you’ve ever heard? I am still digesting what he said here at the Six Days of Creation icon workshop. Luckily, I’ve had a tape to listen to several times.

Thank you as well, and I’ll tell Jon and Ali hello and many years. Yes, Fr. Tom is riveting! I’d met him once when my dad was in seminary at SVS, but never heard him speak. Quite wonderful and rejuvenating!
What! Boot Camp!?! I’d heard rumours of you joining the Navy but never for a moment believed they were true! I’d really like to chat with you before you go. Email me with a phone # and I’ll give you a call. We’ll certainly remember you in our prayers, and I will greet everyone in Naptown for you. Welcome Home! It was good to talk to you last night, and Carrie and I both look forward to talking again soon. Sorry it was so crazy trying to connect…we actually stayed at the new house last night, and this morning watching the sunrise was incredible. A hawk landed in a tree just outside the window while I was watching, kind of like the eagle at Ranch Council…hmmm! Anyway, it is good to see your post again, it is part of my morning routine as much as possible!
You’re back! Wondered if you were lost in the wilderness. Glad to hear it was purposeful wandering. Looking forward to Seraphim-news in your future blogs.
